Sterling, VA (May 21, 2021) -JK Land Holdings, LLC (JKLH) has purchased two properties totaling 94 acres in Manassas, Va., which settled May 14, 2021. The land off of Devlin Road is zoned for commercial and light industrial and a portion for heavy industrial. A majority of the land was purchased from St. Johns Properties.
“This land complements our increasing focus on Prince William County as the county seeks to grow its business and data center presence,” said Chuck Kuhn, CEO, JKLH, and Founder and CEO, JK Moving Services, the nation’s largest independently owned and operated moving company.
Last year, JKLH bought 135 acres of land in Prince William off of Wellington Road for commercial, industrial and data center development. A portion of the Manassas acreage is being used by sister company JK Moving Services—based in Sterling, Va.—to further extend its operations, clientele, and employee base in Prince William County. JKLH is finishing major site work to remediate contamination and will start building an access road soon so construction can begin on JK Moving’s new 100,000 square foot building. A second JK Moving 100,000 square foot building is also planned. The remainder of the land will be developed for logistics firms and data centers.
JK Moving expects to add 300 new employees in the Manassas location, including administrative, sales, driver and warehouse positions, which could be good for the Prince William County job market. The company currently employs nearly 1,100 people located throughout the world, with the majority based in the DC metro area, including Loudoun, Prince William and Montgomery counties. Completion is expected by year end and hiring will begin shortly before that date.
